Sabrina's Love Story (Part-6)
Sabrina's Unforgettable Love Story
Leaving Adolescence and Stepping Toward Youth
After completing
his studies in the ninth grade, Md. Kabir Hossain moved up to the tenth grade.
His age was gradually increasing. Having passed through the simplicity of
childhood, he was approaching the final stage of adolescence, and a new door to
youth was beginning to open before him.
This was a strange
period in Kabir’s life. On one side were his studies, school, friends, and
dreams about the future; on the other, new feelings were being born inside him
every day. Even he could not understand when his thoughts and way of looking at
life had changed so much.
The world that he
had once seen through very simple eyes now began to look more beautiful and
different to him. The village roads, green fields, the sky seen through the
leaves of trees, and the afternoon breeze—all seemed to hold a new kind of
beauty for him.
Sometimes, while
walking to school, he would suddenly stop and look at nature. At other times,
while looking at the afternoon sky, he would think, “If life were as free as a bird, how far could I fly?”
Many dreams had
also begun to appear in Kabir’s mind. What would he do in the future? Where
would he go? What would his life be like? He did not know the answers to these
questions. But he felt that he had to accomplish something meaningful in his
life.
However, the
greatest change at this age came in his feelings.
When Kabir saw
girls of his age, he would experience a kind of shyness,
curiosity, and unfamiliar sense of attraction. If his eyes met
someone’s, he would feel a strange mixture of nervousness and happiness inside.
Sometimes, a particular face would remain in his mind for no apparent reason.
Sometimes, when he
found himself thinking about a girl, he would become surprised and ask himself,
“Why
am I thinking about her?”
He could not find
an answer. He only felt that some new emotion was beginning to grow inside him.
He did not yet know how to put that feeling into words.
Sitting with books
all day was no longer as easy for him as before. After studying for a while,
his mind would wander somewhere else. Even when he looked at the pages of a
book, his thoughts would sometimes drift into a distant world of dreams.
Nevertheless,
Kabir did not completely give up his studies. He knew that his life was not
easy. He had experienced many hardships since childhood. Therefore, he also
understood the importance of education in building his future.
During this
period, his interest in movies also began to grow. Whenever he had the
opportunity, he would watch movies. In particular, stories about love,
relationships, friendship, and human emotions attracted him the most.
The characters in
movies made him think deeply. Watching their stories of happiness, sorrow,
love, separation, and dreams, Kabir began to imagine things about his own life
as well.
Not only movies, he also enjoyed reading romantic stories and novels. Whenever a
new feeling appeared in a character’s life, Kabir would read about it
attentively. Sometimes, he felt that there was a strange similarity between the
emotions of those fictional characters and some of the feelings inside his own
heart.
No definite love
story had yet begun in his life. But it seemed that an unfamiliar feeling had
begun knocking on the door of his heart.
Until then,
Kabir’s life had been mainly a story of struggle. Losing his mother’s affection
in childhood, growing up at his maternal grandparents’ home, and later
returning to his father’s house and continuing his studies amid hardship—all
these experiences had made his life difficult.
But when he
reached the tenth grade, it seemed as though a different world had opened its
door before him. Alongside sorrow, he began to experience dreams,
happiness, curiosity, and a new light of hope for the future.
Sometimes, he
would sit alone and think about his future. He imagined that one day he would
stand on his own feet. He wanted to build a life in which he would no longer
have to endure anyone’s neglect.
At that time, his
mind was pulled in two directions: on one side were his studies and thoughts
about the future, and on the other were the new feelings of youth. Kabir’s days
continued to pass amid this inner struggle.
Time was moving
forward. His tenth-grade studies were also progressing. Ahead of him was an
important examination in his life—the SSC examination.
But before that, several more events were about to take place in Kabir’s life,
events that would completely change the direction of his journey.
The boy who had
come so far after enduring the hardships of childhood still did not know that
one of the most important chapters of his life was about to begin very soon.
